Creve Coeur Office

As the Managing Partner, William’s job is to oversee all aspects of The America Group. He focuses on assuring they are doing the best to assist clients, helping advisors dream bigger dreams, making sure they are compliant, managing the financials, and much more.

William has a Bachelor's Degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and a Master's Degree from Southeast Missouri State University (where he met his wife). Within the financial world, he has earned a CFP (R) degree from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, and a CLU (R) and ChFC (R) degree from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Prior to becoming an advisor, William was a swimming coach. He has continued his involvement with USA Swimming, serving as President for four years, and on the Board of Directors since 1985. He has served as the Chairman of the Board of the USA Swimming Foundation, and the fundraising arm of USA Swimming since 2009. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the United States Olympic Committee and the St. Louis Sports Commission.

William is passionate about helping people, growing advisors, seeing The America Group and the USA Swimming Foundation flourish and grow.

He’s most proud of his work with the USA Swimming Foundation, a $20 million dollar+ Foundation. The dual mission of the Foundation, Saving Lives and Building Champions, both in and out of the pool, supports Swimming's efforts at both the top and bottom of the pipeline. The Foundation teaches more than 1 million children per year how to swim and be safe around the water, without regard to their ability to pay for lessons.

William’s favorite experience has been the opportunity to attend several Olympic Games and World Championships as a representative from the United States. Watching swimmers that he knows stand on the podium and receive their awards during the playing of the national anthem still makes the hair on the back of his neck rise.

In his free time, he enjoys reading, exercise, golf, volunteer work, and traveling. He and his wife also enjoy watching classic movies on TCM.
